This site probably owes its existence to SARS-CoV-2 and art galleries not being available to visit in person owing to lockdown. I had already been around a few virtual galleries when I decided to start a list of links.
I realized that there was a real interest in viewing art amongst those looking for things to do, both alone and with others. Stuck in their homes, people were making new friends all over the world. Many at a great distance from where they live. Here was a chance, screen sharing via teleconferencing software, to share the experience and talk about the art while viewing it.
If you’re going to take somebody round one of the galleries I suggest that you take a quick walk round the gallery in advance. The controls differ depending upon the gallery you are visiting.
